Comparing the main dining room service to Royal Carribean, we noticed a few other negatives on the Celebration that didn’t give it the higher end restaurant feel. On Royal Caribbeans Oasis Class ships, there are open spaces that make you wonder if you’re even on a ship. Areas (called Neighbpurhoods) like Central Park, filled with real plants and trees, or the Promenade, where you can go for a carousel ride in the huge open-air area with a water theater. Royal Caribbean’s largest ships are almost 30% larger than the Celebration but hold the same number of passengers at max capacity.

The new travel-inspired neighborhood The Gateway on decks 6 and 7 midship is most noticeable for its LED "windows" that display scenes from countries around the world, depending on the evening's theme. The new train station-inspired Latitudes Bar and returning Emeril's Bistro 1397 anchor this area, with the popular pharmacy-themed Alchemy Bar above. Emeril's serves Louisiana-style breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as three evening specials based on the day's international theme.

Some of these places are familiar to frequent Carnival cruisers, such as the long-standing RedFrog Tiki Bar. However, others are brand new, such as The Golden Jubilee, a unique bar that’s a nod to Carnival’s storied past, with decor from prior ships used to create a gorgeous Art Deco-style, upscale space. However, the area lacks seating with full sightlines of both the stagebound singers and the aerialists.

Bring your appetite because you will have lots of places to dine, including a stunning main restaurant where you can savor delicious cuisine in a lovely setting. Delight your taste buds at various specialty restaurants and enjoy grilled fare and an amazing selection at the seemingly endless buffet. Better service, better food more variety , a-lot more variety of entertainment around the smaller ships. This ship is Great for your first ship you have nothing to compare it too. Overall the crew and officers aboard the Carnival Celebration were attentive and upbeat. During this cruise, we had the privilege of meeting the Captain of the ship and his officers, shop managers, and more. Everyone is very passionate and professional about offering guests a unique, safe, and enjoyable vacation experience onboard.

We found these areas relatively easy to navigate as they run through the ship, though they do wind and weave some. However, just be ready for lots of people on these decks, which can lead to a crowded feel during busy times. But what you quickly realize — even at first — is that there is a lot onboard. Walking through the ship is seemingly a never-ending lineup of bars, restaurants, shops, and venues. And given that Celebration is so much larger than other ships, it also means that while the favorites that are well-known across Carnival are still there, it also has a lot of offerings that aren’t on other ships.

You’ll find six different areas on this ship, each one with unique features. We enjoyed this several times during our cruise and loved grabbing a slice and enjoying the alfresco seating nearby. This ship has a tremendous amount of outdoor seating options, and it makes the ship more enjoyable. Lastly, the Havana staterooms and suites are, similar to the Loft 19 spaces, part of a VIP area of the ship that tries to create a more calming and exclusive atmosphere. All guests in the Havana area are 12 and up, so there are no screaming kiddos around (in case that’s not your preference). Plus, the Havana area includes its own bar and pool, where only Havana guests are permitted.

Located on Deck 8 midship, this new area is a dining mecca, featuring Rudi's Seagrill (seafood), Cucina del Capitano (Italian), Miami Slice (pizza) and Deco Deli (Latin-inspired sandwiches). The area also includes Bar 820, serving Cuban-inspired coffee drinks and cocktails. Try’s Guy’s Pig & Anchor for an Easy BreakfastBreakfast is served in a lot of places around the ship, but if you want one of the easiest, then try Guy’s Pig & Anchor. The spot serves BBQ for lunch and dinner but for breakfast it offers the same lineup that you’ll get at the morning buffet (minus the omelet station). So instead of having to go all the way to Deck 16, you can eat on Deck 8 in a spot that’s much less busy.

Feel rested on your queen-sized bed that can convert to twin beds and enjoy the living space. Several pools are available, and we were able to find lounge chairs easier than on other cruise ships. If you’ve been on a cruise before, you know how chaotic the buffet restaurant is. Walking around the huge area several times to find a table, trying to find your family, people walking every direct and cutting in line, is all part of the experience.
